Marino las Baulas de Guanacaste Tamarindo/Playa Grande National Park is conservation oriented and gives tours of the nesting areas of leatherback turtles, an endangered species. There is a small museum which focuses on the natural history of leatherback turtles, which are the largest turtles, reaching a shell length of up to 1.7 meters.

Costa Rica has the largest variety of Butterflies of any country in the world and there are several Butterfly gardens around the country. The Butterfly Garden near Manuel Antonio is well worth a visit. You will see hundreds of butterflies and it's a great photo opportunity!
Manuel Antonio Beach
Manuel Antonio is a beautiful beach with a National Park nearby that is well worth the time of the walking tour - either on your own or with a guide. There are sloth, monkeys, iguanas, birds and other animals in the park. You can find more information about the park at the link below.
